“No More Mis-Contraceptions” (misconception + contraception… get it? we tried) is a video resource library developed out of the desire to highlight social media videos with ACCURATE information on birth control.
What is it?
“No More Mis-contraception” was started by Dr. Imbo, a Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecologist passionate about reproductive education. She and a group of other medical professionals (meet our team below) reviewed hundreds of social media videos to decide which were most accurate based on multiple factors such as video content, aims achieved, relevancy, sources, currency, and bias.
How was it made?
Why social media videos?
Research shows that most teens use social media as their main source of healthcare information. It’s quick and easy - we get it! Unfortunately, most social media is filled with misinformation. (Don’t believe everything you read on the internet!)
So why do doctors keep handing out pamphlets? Because it’s all we’ve got!
To be fair, many medical professionals have turned to social media to create informative videos. Unfortunately, they don’t get as many views as the inaccurate videos.
With “No More Mis-Contraception,” we bring their videos to you all in one place and help STOP THE SPREAD OF MISINFORMATION.
